The above picture is of my Mom in her wedding
finery. I sit and look at the picture and think
how beautiful she was. *S*

Doris Irene Hartman Benedict was born in Bedford,
Taylor County, Iowa to Edward James Hartman and
Mable Jared Hartman. Doris lived in Bedford until
she graduated from high school in 1943. She then
went to Washington D.C. where she went to work for
the F.B.I. in the fingerprint department.

Mother met Philip Edward Benedict in Washington D.C.
and they were married April 23,1945 in Hagerstown,
Washington County,MO. They had five children, 1 son
and 4 girls. Mother died on September 17, 1987
in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas and is buried in
Mansfield, Tarrant County, Texas.

Boy we were a cute bunch...wonder what happened. LOL
I think that was my dad sitting by my brother
whom you can only see an arm.

MOM

You brought me into this world,
You fed me, clothed me and rocked me.
You brushed my hair and wiped away my tears.
You loved me for no other reason
than you were my mother.

Remembering you now...
is a mixture of joy and tears.
The wonder of a child not knowing how
Mom knew everything.
The memories as a young woman and
how when I really needed you,
you were always there.
And the knowledge that no matter what
you always cared.

Now you are gone
It's been so long.
But at times it seems like yesterday.
I love you, Mom, and miss you so,
But I know you had to go.

Good Bye, Mom, I love you.
