Katie Michelle

Katie is my next to the oldest year old grandchild in Donald's and Jenny's family. Her birthday is September 30th.

Her favorite animals are dolphins and all pretty sea creatures.

Katie's favorite colors are black and red. She loves to write poety, reading and hanging out with her friends and listening to music.Her favorite movie is Matilda,and her favorite actor is Jeremy Sumpter.

Katie wrote a poem for school andit was turned in for a contest by the Military Child Education Coalition. She wrote this when she was in the 6th grade. She was one of several who were chosen to be Published by MCEC in the book Toching the Hearts of Children Anthology: The Art of Being a Military Child. The name of Katie's poem is "Still Thinking of Him". I am so very proud of my granddaughter.

Still Thinking of Him

Standing at a chain link fence
Is a little girl holding onto its links
With icy cold hands.

She stares across the frozen meadow
To the other side
Where her daddy used to work.

Tears are falling down her face,
For the man she's wishing to come home
Is in a far away place.

He's just a man to many, but she loves him most
For her dad's her hero throughout her heart
And for that they will never part.
